US racing tips: Templegate’s best bets for the meeting stateside at Gulfstream on Friday live on Sky Sports Racing

GULFSTREAM

5.00

COUNTERSTRIKE showed plenty of promise when second on debut, going down by just a head. He takes a slight step up in distance here which should be good enough to get him off the mark.

Absam wasn’t helped by a slow start before running on nicely to cross the line in fourth on debut. Blinkers go on today which could help him come out of the gates quicker.

Rhythm Section comes from top trainer Todd Pletcher and ran green on debut when not getting much luck in running for good measure. There should be more to come.

5.34

DON’T GET KHOZY was second in a similar contest to this last time and is capable of going one better. She makes her debut for a new yard here, which could be another plus and she was forced wide latest which didn’t help.

Miz Chaplin had six lengths in hand when scoring last time which makes her a big danger if getting out quickly from her inside draw.

Chit Chat Girl has been running in stronger contests than this with some success and this drop back in distance looks a wise move. She has every chance of getting back on the podium.

6.05

GRAN CHAMPAGNE can send the corks popping after catching the eye with an excellent third on debut last time. One of the track’s top jockeys, Tyler Gaffalione, takes over on board today and can steer her home.

Yankee Empire is taking a drop in grade on the back of a solid third on his final start at Saratago before heading south. He may need this comeback but is one to consider.

Bourbon Street was well backed before finishing second over course and distance latest. A repeat of that would put him on the premises again.

FIRST WAVE has her sights lowered plenty having tried her hand in much stronger company at Keeneland where the standard is higher than Gulfstream. Returning to turf looks another smart move and this trip should be ideal.

Noble Alma was once with top handler William Mott and showed promise when second over this trip last time. She won’t be far away from what should be a handy draw.

Fuddled catches the eye making her debut at the age of four and a market move would be telling.

7.08

SABINA PARK can bowl her rivals out. She’s dropping to this lowly level after a good effort when fourth in a hotter race last time. Her rider’s 10lb claim should make all the difference in a tight race.

Country Strong is consistent with a win and three places from her past five outings. She drops back to a sprint trip for the first time in a while and another good run is expected.

Looking For More is rarely off the podium and has shown enough to figure again although the other two look a couple of steps ahead.

7.39

FELIX THE FOX has been knocking on the door and he has placed form at the likes of Belmont which would be a cut above a lot of the action here. Top rider John Velazquez takes over on board as he switches to the turf, which should see him home in front.

Azrael looks the main danger after showing promise on dirt. He’s another who has attracted a big jockey in Javier Castellano.

Propensity handled the change to the grass track well when third last time and should improve for the experience from what should be a good draw.

8.10

CHASE RUNNER has won three of his four starts over this distance and finished off strongly when second over a furlong shorter last time out. He is proven in this grade and looks the best bet of the meeting.

Kahramani got the better of Two Steps Slew when they last clashed but the former had fitness on his side then. With the benefit of that run under his belt, Two Step Slew could turn that form around and chase my fancy home.

Lapochka is another with an each-way shout after a decent win last time out.

8.41

FRENCHMEN STREET is prolific at this level and made it three wins from his past four starts nicely last time out. He has a strong record on turf so switching surfaces won’t be an issue. His new trainer has booked a top rider for good measure.

Camp Randall is unbeaten over this trip on grass so won’t be easy to crack. This looks a slightly tougher contest than the one he won last time but he should be right on the premises again.

Coop Tries Harder is coming back from a break but has some decent form on the green stuff and can’t be discounted.

9.12

OURNATIONONPARADE went close when third in a Listed contest here last time and should find these opponents much easier. He steps up to a mile from the 6f trip today which is another tick in his box.

Silver Ratio scored on debut and more than matched that with a good third over 7f last time. He was a relatively expensive buy and clearly has some ability.

Sprawl didn’t enjoy his spin on turf last time and should be much happier back on dirt where he was showing some promise before. It could be telling that top rider John Velazquez has chosen to ride him over Silver Ratio.

9.43

BACCHANALIA guns for three wins on the spin and should have no issues with dropping back to a trip she’s won over before. Her latest success came after a break and she could well be fitter for it.

Silver Kitten goes up in distance after two wins and a second. Provided she gets home, she should be right there from stall nine.

Cash Out came back from a break to put up a good runner-up effort last time. She came with a real rattle and this extra furlong gives her every chance of going one better.

10.14

ASK FOR BODE got the job done nicely when winning on his debut by a mile last time. That was a convincing success and he won’t mind going over an extra furlong. He has more to offer with that first run under his belt.

Amends makes his debut on turf having struggled in a Grade 2 last time out. This is clearly a much softer race and he’ll be a danger if taking to the track after a break.

Unconquered Lea comes here on the back of a decent win and can’t be dismissed despite this looking a better contest.
